Most International Junior Enterprise
Apr 2026, Lisbon
At JeniAL 2026, NJC was named Most International Junior Enterprise in Portugal, after being nominated for both Junior Enterprise of the Year and Most International Junior Enterprise
Second field trip: Dublin
4-6 Feb 2026
The second international field trip brought NJC to Dublin, with visits to Aptiv, Meta, Citibank and Salesforce, continuing the journey of expanding horizons and building a global footprint
First international field trip: Madrid
26-28 Feb 2025
NJC’s first-ever international field trip took the team to Madrid, with visits to Oliver Wyman, Simon-Kucher and Wayra and an exchange session with the junior enterprise Ellysium, strengthening the network beyond Portugal
Hosting the national congress
1-2 Jun 2024
NJC organized the V JENC, the Junior Enterprises National Congress, at the Nova SBE campus in Carcavelos, welcoming junior enterprises from across Portugal and hosting the handover of JE Portugal’s leadership
Project of the Year
1 Apr 2023, Porto
At jeniAL 2023 in Porto, NJC won Project of the Year for the Finland Energy Project, developed with the Embassy of Finland in Portugal and Aalto University. The team mapped energy transition opportunities for Finnish companies in Portugal, from hydrogen to smart grids, and presented the results in Helsinki to Finnish Minister Ville Skinnari
Ten years of NJC

On its 10th anniversary NJC gathered ten generations of members and alumni at the 10th Anniversary Gala to celebrate a decade of challenges, learning, friendship and excellence
The first NJC Scholarship
Feb 2022
NJC created its own merit scholarship for first-year Bachelor students: a 33% tuition reduction plus learning sessions with partners, networking and personal career guidance. The first ten scholars were announced in February 2022, and the program has run every year since
Most Promising Junior Enterprise in Portugal
26-28 Mar 2021
At the online jeniAL 2021, Junior Enterprises Portugal named NJC the Most Promising Junior Enterprise in Portugal, recognizing its growth, quality, impact and long-term vision. The jury highlighted the new Advisory Board of Nova SBE professors, international membership and partnerships with BCG, Deloitte and Mastercard.
Most Impactful European Project
Feb 2020, Brussels
At the Junior Enterprises Europe Excellence Awards in Brussels, NJC won the Most Impactful Project award for its work in the Nova SBE Social Leapfrog Program with BPI and ‘la Caixa’ Foundation. NJC teams assessed ten hybrid social organizations and built a two-and-a-half-year strategic plan for each
The next step: Nova Junior Consulting
5 May 2017
On 5 May 2017, at the end of the Consulting Week, President Bernardo Sousa Machado and his Board revealed the next step. NJE would join forces with the Nova Consulting Club, adopt the name Nova Junior Consulting and launch a new logo built on Excellence, Trust and Responsibility. From September 2017 NJC opened to Master’s and international students and adopted a consulting firm structure
From Junior Initiative to Junior Enterprise
JE Portugal
After years in the movement as a Junior Initiative, NJE achieved full Junior Enterprise status in 2016, meeting the network’s standards for quality, governance and impact
Joining the European network
JADE Portugal
In 2014 NJE became part of JADE Portugal and, through it, the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises, a non-profit network of student-run consultancies across Europe
Nine students revive the movement

In 2012 a group of nine Bachelor students decided to revive the junior entrepreneur project at Nova SBE, creating Nova Junior Enterprise (NJE), led by founder and first president André Santos

Nova SBE
The Junior Entrepreneur movement at Nova School of Business and Economics started in 1993 with Nova Junior, the school’s first junior enterprise. Its mission was already familiar: high-quality consulting for a wide variety of clients while developing the skills of its members. After several successful projects, it fell into inactivity for a number of years
